Manga: BioMega: Vol. 2
Well, read the second volume of BioMega. Pretty Good!! Here's what it says on the back:
"After capturing Eon Green, DRF forces are amassing around TOA Heavy Industry headquarters and have taken Dr. Kurokawa and his daughter into custody. Zoichi must attempt a rescue - Dr. Kurokawa's laboratory may yield critical information on Eon Green. Elsewhere, TOA Heavy Industry agent Nishu Mizunoe searches for Kozlov Grebnev and the secrets he knows about the DRF's research, origins and their apocalyptic plan for the entire human race!"
If you are into zombie apocalypse with a dose of cyberpunk I would suggest picking this manga up!

Festival: Terminus: Velocity
Well, as many of you know, Terminus festival has once again
happened this year! I have to be honest, this year was a little underwhelming.
It seemed that there weren’t too many industrial bands this year. Seemed like
it was industrial light. However, the festival was still good! There were some
bands I was looking forward to seeing! Here are some of the highlights from the
show:
Day 1:
Digital Winter: I’ve seen these guys many times before at local shows here in Calgary. They ended up opening the festival, and they did not disappoint! Matter of fact, I think this is probably one of the best performances they’ve put on ever!
iVardensphere: Well,
what is there to say, iVardensphere put on an excellent performance! They just
recently added the Taiko drumming crew (permanently) to their live lineup, and
yep… Good!!
Dive: This was the highlight of the evening! I
have to be honest, I’m not too familiar with Dive or Dirk Ivens, but the
performance was amazing! As of recently, I’ve been listening to more noisey
type stuff and when Dive came on stage I was quite impressed (musically and
performance)! He is a one man show, but he had an incredible stage performance,
and he has incredible stage presence!
Day 2:
The Body: This band is more of a metal/noise band with
noise/electronic elements. Their setup was a guy on bass/guitar/vocals (with
some kind of noise/electronic setup) and a drummer. All I
have to say: Really fuckin noisey! Really good! I will probably be picking up
their album/releases!
Cocksure: Well, I was expecting them to be good, and
they did not disappoint! They even had a
dancing naked man join them on stage (Ayria’s drummer)!
This Morn Omina: This Morn Omina were good! I have not
listened to too much of their stuff, but I always find live shows are a great
way to be introduced to their (bands) stuff!
Members of iVardensphere also joined them on stage for the entirety of
the performance, which I think enhanced the whole the live show!
Day 3:
Aesthetic
Perfection: I’ve seen Aesthetic
Perfection 6 or 7 times now (not sure exactly how many times, but it’s
somewhere around there). This time,
Aesthetic Perfection performed songs from Daniel Graves old side project Necessary
Response! No drummer this time around,
just keyboardist and him, but still an excellent performance!
Well, those were the highlights, like I mentioned, this year
was a little underwhelming. There wasn’t too many bands I was excited about,
but the bands that I was excited about put on excellent performances! Thank you Dickens Pub for putting on these events! We’ll see
what next year brings!!

Manga: Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Episode 3: Idolater
Well, picked this up a couple days ago and read it. Pretty Good! It's based on the Ghost In The Shell: SAC anime series. So, if you've seen the first season of the series, then you know what this manga is about! Here's what the back of the manga says: "Marcelo Jarti, the hero of a democratic revolution, and South American drug dealer, has been coming to Japan periodically and no one knows why. The Major and Section 9 track his movements after he makes his latest appearance in the country. They are determined to figure out the meaning of his visits, but following Jarti leads to more than they could have possibly expected...". Anyway, good quick read! If you follow Ghost In The Shell, I would strongly recommend picking this up!
