Studio Diary: March 30/2019

Very productive day! Spent the entire session on "MH". Was right, I knew the direction I was going last session was the right one... song structure has changed completely... Lyrics are done! Vocals were done in a few takes. May need to tweak them a little bit, everything is sounding good! Arrangement is in a more permanent state... after some minor tweaks next session, this will be sent off to have guitars added!! Overall feeling from this session: I feel very productive, I feel very good about the way things are going! This album is shaping up to be the best Twitch album yet! Very Excited!!

Studio Diary: March 29/2019

Messed around all day on "MH" trying to get "perfect" sounds... not satisfied with result, but... next session should be better, have a general idea of what I'll be tweaking / adding / and perhaps recording! May have to synthesize a human voice... we'll see... Overall feeling about today's session: Despite not really finding / creating the perfect sounds, still full of ideas and still inspired! Can't wait till tomorrows session!! Love you guys!!

Studio Diary: March 28/2019

Back in the studio of after being under the weather earlier this week! Feels good! Listened to "R"... made some minor tweaks... didn't do much with vocals as, as stated above, was feeling under the weather and don't want to push the vocals too far and have a blow out. So, moved on from "R" and worked on "MH"... did some minor vocal parts (very short) and then fucked with them... couldn't get them to sit properly in the mix... then started fucking around with a ambient reverb type effect, and BOOM! all of the sudden everything seems to work and fit... fucked with shit even more, did some weird glitches and shit, and combined with the weird ambient sound, makes the vocal parts weird and well... don't want to spoil it... may fuck them up even further next session, we'll see... Overall feeling from todays session: it feels good to be back at it! Was productive, and experimentation worked to my advantage! Very excited about these songs and the upcoming album!! 😁😁😁

Studio Diary: March 23/2019

Another Saturday in the studio, started with a coffee. Listened to "WAWP" and "DB", tweaks here and there. Jumped into "R"... wow! Lots of progress... Added a couple of Pads, jammed around a bit to get some parts... then went on the hunt in some old samples that I created back in the day... found the perfect sample, did a bit of sound design, fits perfectly into song! Song arrangement is sitting around the 95% done mark, lyrics are sitting at 95% as well... think I just need to add vocals and some tweaking here and there... and the track will be done on my part. Will send off for guitars after vocals and tweaking are done!! Very excited! This song seemed to come together quite quickly today, everything seems to fit together and there isn't all that much left to do for it... can't wait till next session!

I am very thankful years ago that I spent a bunch of time doing a bunch of sound design for unfinished tracks... or just samples that I created years ago. Today everything came together so quickly and naturally... I didn't have to do much to find the perfect sounds! Yeah, just excited!

Studio Diary: March 21/2019

Today we had rehearsal, and then I spent the rest of the evening writing/recording. Listened a bit to "TEoW/TBoH", and "DC", tweaked things here and there. Worked on "WAWP" made a bit of progress on this song... added a sample to the beginning of the song, adds a nice touch, especially for what the lyrics of the song are about... I would say the lyrics are 95% done... as far as arrangement and instrumentation... still a ways to go, but still made progress! May spend tomorrow afternoon in the studio as well, we'll see... have some other projects I would like to get to as well... so may focus on those projects and then spend the evening doing music stuff! Although, I'll be spending the entire day in the studio on Saturday... so I could get away and focus on other projects on Friday... we'll see how things roll! Overall feeling: studio time was good! Can't wait till the next session!! 😃

Studio Diary: March 20/2019

Another evening in the studio, listened a lot to "TEoW/TBoH" and "STF", then finally at the end of the session, made some progress on "DC"! We are slow and steady again, but at least shit is getting done! Sometimes presets can be fun! This synth patch immediately fits into the song. Not that I use presets all the time, but sometimes taking a listen and testing things... they just seem to work out! Lyrics for "DC" are pretty much done as well! May tweak things a little bit, but so far no changes!

Studio Diary: March 18/2019

Another evening in the studio! Made a lot of progress! Did vocals for "TEG"... got it all in one take! Sent off to have guitar added... may tweak things here and there after the guitars are inserted, but this track is pretty much done!! Also worked on "TEoW/TBoH" not a lot of progress on this song, but did a lot of listening... there's a lot of work to do for this track... will probably pick it up next recording/writing session!! Now enjoying the below view!!

Some thoughts about the album; I'm really enjoying being in the studio as often as I am these days... I feel like I'm making a lot of progress and things are happening a lot quicker! There's a lot on my plate musically these days, as I'm working on two projects, but being that I'm in the studio, almost every day, I'm getting a lot more done, and that's how I like to roll!!

Studio Diary: March 16/2019

Lot's of progress in the studio today! Worked on "NF" and finished vocals and a rough mix... Sent off to have guitar added! We'll see how it turns out in the end... quite excited!! Also worked on "TEG", added a synth FX/PAD type sound... Used EQ on it to pull out the low-end... sounds amazing in track... also added some choral parts, and some glitched-up shit. Next session gonna maybe add vocal parts... not sure where I should go next... not sure if track needs more parts or if it just needs vocals, so we'll see what happens next session... this track is starting to sound awesome! Feeling like I'm starting to break through this "just listening and tweaking" routine! Lot's of progress!!

Studio Diary: March 14/2019

Was in the studio this evening, made progress on "NF"... after I went back to the track, I listened to it and something wasn't right with what I had did the last time... so took out all of the high-end in the bass track... and replaced it with a Pad sound... everything seems to be working well together... I think that all that's left for this track is vocals, maybe some samples, then send it off to have guitar done! Quite excited!! Obviously, proper mixing then mastering needs to be done as well, but this track is nearing completion!! Overall feeling of today's session: Progress! I'm quite excited to get into the studio again tomorrow, and if not tomorrow, then definitely Saturday!! Sometimes isolation can be fun (but I'll get into that another time)!!

Studio Diary: March 12/2019

Another evening in the studio! Made a bit of progress on "NF". Used a pad sound from the synth... felt like there was too much in the track... so got rid of pad sound, and frequency split the bass synth instrument in the track... starting to sound better and not so piled up. Still need to tweak things here and there to get the exact sound looking for, but progress has been made! Lyrics for this track are complete... may change song structure a little bit... We'll see what the next session brings... will hopefully be back in the studio tomorrow!! Overall feeling about how album is coming; a little slow, but everyday that something gets done, the more excited I am about it! It's taking shape and I feel like this is probably going to be the best Twitch album yet!!

Spent this fine Saturday in the studio! Not a lot of progress, tweaks here and there. As you can see in the image above, these are the various states of arrangement of each song! The lyric side hasn't been updated yet... but most of the lyrics are almost done!!

Studio Diary: March 7/2019

Another evening in the studio... lots of listening! Worked on "TC" today! Not sure where to take things, still positive, but not a lot of actual writing/recording going on, lots of tweaks here and there! Tomorrow is rehearsal, then we'll see about the rest of the evening (ideally would like to spend it in the studio, but we'll see... should probably go out and socialize at some point this weekend)... I like doing this (almost) everyday thing in the studio... even though I've been mainly just tweaking stuff the last little while, I'm still making progress! Think I need to listen to some new music (not mine)... maybe grab some ideas from there. There is definitely a theme for this next release... not a concept album, but a running theme throughout the songs...

Haven't been in the studio for a couple of days, but back at it today! Small steps again, but still progress. There are soo many tools for our disposal as modern musicians... found an old sample, bitcrunched it, then glitched it... fits perfectly with "DB"!! Excited for next session!!

Studio Diary: March 2/2019

Spent the evening in the studio! Saturday's are my usual days for recording/writing, so if I don't do it during the week, Saturday's are my dedicated studio days! Made a lot of progress today!! Only worked on a couple of songs, but made a lot of progress on, mainly one of them! Getting more and more excited for this album to be done! Feel very inspired!! Trying out all kind of techniques for these songs... stuff that I wouldn't normally do... yeah, excited!

P.S.: Unfortunately, my "Sex Doll 2077" will not be arriving, someone stole it from the mail person... or so they say... 😆
